Dseal JackGuard

JackGuard is the horizontal floor-to-floor expansion joint solution, a robust ASTM 6063 T6 aluminium cover that delivers a strong, level transition across movement joints in commercial and industrial floors.

Dseal JackGuard is a horizontal floor-to-floor expansion joint cover engineered to deliver a strong, level transition where two floor sections meet on the same plane. Extruded from ASTM 6063 T6 aluminium, it provides a durable, corrosion-resistant cover that absorbs thermal and structural movement across commercial and industrial floors.

JackGuard is built for commercial and industrial floors that demand a robust, hard-wearing joint cover. Its sturdy aluminium profile keeps the surface flush and even, handling routine floor traffic while the joint expands and contracts beneath, and is supplied in configurations to suit a range of floor build-ups.

Installation Guide

  1. Clean both joint edges, removing concrete laitance, grout and debris from the joint and anchor zone.
  2. Position the JackGuard frame profiles along each edge, flush and level with the finished floor.
  3. Mark, drill and fix the frames into the slab through the pre-drilled holes using suitable anchors.
  4. Confirm both sides are parallel and level with a consistent gap before final tightening.
  5. Seat the aluminium cover into the frame along the full length of the joint.
  6. Check the cover sits flush and clean the completed joint.

Maintenance & Care

JackGuard needs little maintenance. Clean the aluminium cover with a neutral detergent diluted in water and rinse with clean water; avoid acidic (hydrochloric or hydrofluoric) cleaners that attack aluminium, and keep grit and debris clear of the joint.

Inspect the cover and fixings during routine facility checks, paying attention to high-traffic zones in commercial and industrial settings. Re-tighten loose anchors and replace a worn or damaged cover section without disturbing the fixed frame, keeping the floor in service.

FAQs

JackGuard — Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Dseal JackGuard floor expansion joint cover?

JackGuard is a horizontal floor-to-floor expansion joint cover made from ASTM 6063 T6 aluminium. It provides a robust, level transition across movement joints in commercial and industrial floors.

What does horizontal floor-to-floor mean for JackGuard?

It means JackGuard bridges a joint where two floor sections meet on the same horizontal plane, keeping the surface level and flush as the slabs expand, contract and shift.

What material is JackGuard made from?

JackGuard is extruded from ASTM 6063 T6 aluminium, a strong, corrosion-resistant alloy that gives a durable, low-maintenance cover for demanding commercial and industrial floors.

Is JackGuard suitable for industrial floors?

Yes. JackGuard's robust aluminium profile is designed for commercial and industrial floors, handling routine traffic while the joint moves beneath.

Does JackGuard sit flush with the floor?

Yes. The cover is set flush with the finished floor so foot and routine traffic pass over a level, even surface across the joint.

What traffic can JackGuard handle?

JackGuard suits routine commercial and industrial floor traffic. For heavy vehicular loads or large structural movement, Dseal offers systems such as LoadMaster or JointMaster — the team can advise on the right choice.

How is JackGuard installed?

The aluminium frames are fixed level along each joint edge through pre-drilled holes, then the cover is seated into the frame. The Installation Guide above gives the full step-by-step.

Can JackGuard be used in refurbishment work?

Yes. Its surface-fixed design suits both new construction and refurbishment, letting a robust joint cover be added to existing commercial and industrial floors.

What is the difference between JackGuard and StarGuard?

Both are floor-to-floor aluminium covers. JackGuard is a robust horizontal solution for commercial and industrial floors, while StarGuard is a low-profile cover tuned for foot and light rolling traffic. The Dseal team can help you choose.

What is the difference between JackGuard and LoadMaster?

JackGuard is a robust floor-to-floor cover for commercial and industrial foot and routine traffic, while LoadMaster is a heavy-load floor-to-floor cover for vehicular traffic with a stainless-steel plate option. Pick LoadMaster where vehicles cross the joint.

Are custom sizes available for JackGuard?

Yes. Dhawan Associates manufactures Dseal profiles in-house and can supply JackGuard matched to your joint width and floor build-up. Share your drawings with the team for a tailored specification.

What maintenance does JackGuard require?

Clean periodically with a neutral detergent and water, avoid acidic cleaners, and keep the joint clear of grit. Inspect fixings in high-traffic zones and replace worn cover sections without removing the frame.

Does JackGuard comply with any standards?

JackGuard aluminium profiles are manufactured in compliance with ASTM B221-02 and the ASTM 6063 specification. Dseal manufacturing is certified to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018.

Who manufactures Dseal JackGuard?

JackGuard is designed and manufactured in India by Dhawan Associates, makers of the Dseal range of expansion joint systems and covers, with in-house capability for custom requirements.
