GatewaySeal is a floor expansion joint from the GFT series built from pre-drilled aluminium angles and an interchangeable nitrile insert. Designed for a 60 mm joint gap at a 35 mm height, it suits indoor and outdoor floors handling light traffic and light trucks on pneumatic tyres. A plain-insert variant is offered specifically for hospital environments, and the system covers floor-to-floor and floor-to-wall details with exposed, hidden or offset skirting.
The aluminium angles are supplied in 3 m sections and accept a nitrile insert available in black, grey or RAL colours to match the floor scheme. The insert is interchangeable, so a damaged length can be replaced within the fixed angle frame, and both flat and angle versions are available to suit the slab condition.
Key Benefits

Installation Guide
- Prepare and clean both slab edges, confirming the 60 mm gap and 35 mm height
- Set the pre-drilled aluminium angles along each edge of the joint
- Drill anchor positions through the pre-drilled holes into the slab
- Fix the angles securely, keeping them parallel and to the correct height
- Cut the nitrile insert to length from the supplied stock
- Press the insert into the channel until it seats fully between the angles
- Verify the insert is flush and finish skirting transitions as detailed
Maintenance & Care
GatewaySeal is low-maintenance: clean the insert with the surrounding floor, which is especially simple where the plain hospital-grade insert is used, and check periodically that the aluminium angles remain firmly anchored. Keep the channel free of grit so the insert continues to seat correctly.
If an insert section is cut or worn, lift it from the angle frame and press in a replacement length cut from stock; the fixed angles stay undisturbed. For replacement inserts in black, grey or a specified RAL colour, contact Dseal (Dhawan Associates) on +91 93109 97953.
FAQs
GatewaySeal — Frequently Asked Questions
What is GatewaySeal?
GatewaySeal is a GFT-series floor expansion joint from Dseal using pre-drilled aluminium angles and an interchangeable nitrile insert. It is sized for a 60 mm gap at 35 mm height for indoor and outdoor floors.
What is the GFT series?
The GFT series is Dseal's range of aluminium floor expansion joints with interchangeable inserts. GatewaySeal is the GFT profile configured for a 60 mm gap and 35 mm height.
What material is GatewaySeal made from?
It uses aluminium angles paired with a nitrile rubber insert. The aluminium gives a durable fixed frame and the nitrile insert flexes with floor movement.
What joint gap and height does GatewaySeal suit?
GatewaySeal is designed for a joint gap up to 60 mm at a finished height of 35 mm, making it easy to specify against a known slab opening.
Can GatewaySeal handle traffic and loads?
Yes. It is rated for light traffic and light trucks on pneumatic tyres, indoors or outdoors, while the nitrile insert absorbs movement.
Is GatewaySeal suitable for hospitals?
Yes. A plain-insert version is offered specifically for hospital environments, giving a smooth, easy-to-clean surface across the joint.
Is GatewaySeal waterproof?
Its nitrile insert and aluminium angles resist surface water and suit outdoor use, but for fully sealed waterproofing under the joint discuss a membrane detail with Dseal.
How is GatewaySeal installed?
The pre-drilled aluminium angles are anchored to each slab edge in 3 m sections, then the nitrile insert is pressed into the channel between them.
How do I maintain GatewaySeal?
Clean the insert along with the floor and inspect the angle fixings periodically. Worn inserts are simply replaced within the existing angle frame.
What colours are available?
The nitrile insert comes in black, grey or a specified RAL colour to match the floor finish.
What standards apply to GatewaySeal?
The aluminium profiles follow ASTM B221-02 / ASTM 6063, and Dseal manufactures under ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 systems.
How is GatewaySeal different from DriveFlex?
DriveFlex targets carpark decks and ramps over a 50-65 mm gap, whereas GatewaySeal is a GFT angle profile fixed at 60 mm and 35 mm with hospital-grade plain inserts and RAL colour options.
Are custom skirting details available?
Yes. GatewaySeal supports floor-to-floor and floor-to-wall junctions with exposed, hidden or offset skirting; Dseal can advise on the right detail.
Who manufactures GatewaySeal?
GatewaySeal is made in India by Dhawan Associates under the Dseal brand.
Where can I buy GatewaySeal in India?
GatewaySeal is supplied across India directly by Dseal (Dhawan Associates). Call +91 93109 97953 for quotes and delivery.
Does GatewaySeal come in flat and angle versions?
Yes. Flat and angle versions are available to suit level floors or skirting transitions at walls.
