Dseal LevelJoint

LevelJoint is a floor cover-plate expansion joint for level transitions across wide openings from 100 mm to 375 mm, using a durable aluminium plate to bridge large joints on low- to medium-traffic floors.

Dseal LevelJoint is a floor cover-plate expansion joint system designed to bridge wide movement joints with a clean, level transition. Built around a durable aluminium cover plate, it spans the larger openings found in big-span commercial and institutional buildings while keeping the floor surface flush and easy to walk across.

LevelJoint covers a wide joint range from 100 mm to 375 mm, making it ideal where slabs are separated by large gaps. Suited to low- to medium-traffic floors, the cover plate spans the opening and accommodates thermal and structural movement while presenting a neat, level finish across the joint.

Installation Guide

  1. Confirm the joint opening falls within the 100–375 mm range and clean both edges of laitance, grout and debris.
  2. Position the LevelJoint frame profiles along each edge, flush and level with the finished floor.
  3. Mark, drill and fix the frames into the slab through their fixing holes using suitable anchors.
  4. Check both sides are parallel and level with a consistent gap before final tightening.
  5. Set the aluminium cover plate across the opening into the frame along the full joint length.
  6. Confirm the plate spans evenly and finishes flush, then clean the completed joint.

Maintenance & Care

LevelJoint needs only routine care. Clean the aluminium cover plate with a neutral detergent diluted in water and rinse with clean water; avoid acidic (hydrochloric or hydrofluoric) cleaners that attack aluminium, and keep the wide joint clear of accumulated grit and debris.

Inspect the cover plate and fixings during routine facility checks, especially across the wide span where deflection could occur. Re-tighten loose anchors and replace a worn or damaged plate section without disturbing the fixed frames, keeping the floor in service with minimal downtime.

FAQs

LevelJoint — Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Dseal LevelJoint floor expansion joint?

LevelJoint is a floor cover-plate expansion joint system that bridges wide movement joints with a level, flush aluminium plate. It spans joint openings from 100 mm to 375 mm on low- to medium-traffic floors.

What joint range does LevelJoint cover?

LevelJoint spans a wide joint range from 100 mm to 375 mm, making it suited to large structural gaps. For narrower joints, Dseal offers systems such as JointMaster or GalaxyJoint — share your gap width with the team.

What material is LevelJoint made from?

LevelJoint uses a durable aluminium cover plate, giving a corrosion-resistant, low-maintenance span across wide joints in commercial and institutional buildings.

What traffic level is LevelJoint designed for?

LevelJoint is intended for low- to medium-traffic floors. For high-footfall or heavy rolling and vehicular loads, Dseal recommends systems such as GalaxyJoint, JointMaster or LoadMaster.

How does LevelJoint bridge such wide openings?

A cover plate spans the full width of the opening and is supported by frames fixed to each slab edge, giving a level transition across joints up to 375 mm while accommodating movement.

Does LevelJoint sit flush with the floor?

Yes. The cover plate is set to finish flush with the adjacent floor so pedestrians and light trolleys cross a level, even surface across the wide joint.

Is LevelJoint suitable for refurbishment?

Yes. Its surface-fixed design suits both new construction and refurbishment, allowing a wide-joint cover to be added to existing floors with minimal disruption.

How is LevelJoint installed?

The frames are fixed level along each joint edge, then the aluminium cover plate is set across the opening to finish flush. The Installation Guide above gives the full step-by-step sequence.

What is the difference between LevelJoint and JointMaster?

LevelJoint is a cover-plate system for wide 100–375 mm openings on low- to medium-traffic floors, while JointMaster is a recess-mounted heavy-duty cover with a free-floating plate for joints up to 100 mm and 1000 kg loads. The Dseal team can advise.

What is the difference between LevelJoint and GalaxyJoint?

LevelJoint covers wider 100–375 mm openings for lighter traffic, while GalaxyJoint serves 50–125 mm gaps with a serrated microseal surface for intense high-traffic and heavy rolling loads. Choose by gap width and footfall.

Are custom sizes available for LevelJoint?

Yes. Dhawan Associates manufactures Dseal profiles in-house and can supply LevelJoint matched to your joint width within range and floor build-up. Send drawings to the team for a tailored specification.

What maintenance does LevelJoint require?

Clean the cover plate with a neutral detergent and water, avoid acidic cleaners, and keep the wide joint clear of grit. Inspect the plate and fixings across the span and replace worn sections without removing the frames.

Does LevelJoint comply with any standards?

LevelJoint aluminium profiles are manufactured in compliance with ASTM B221-02 and the ASTM 6063 specification. Dseal manufacturing is certified to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018.

Who manufactures Dseal LevelJoint?

LevelJoint is designed and manufactured in India by Dhawan Associates, makers of the Dseal range of expansion joint systems and covers, with in-house capability for custom requirements.

Where can I buy LevelJoint in India?
