DriveFlex is a mechanical floor expansion joint built from pre-drilled aluminium side strips and a flexible nitrile insert that clips between them to bridge a structural movement gap. The aluminium strips are supplied in 3 m lengths and the nitrile insert comes on a 15 m roll in black or grey, making it well suited to interior carpark levels, access ramps and floors carrying slow vehicle traffic. It is offered in flat and angle versions to suit both floor-to-floor and floor-to-wall conditions with exposed skirting.
The system accommodates a joint gap of 50-65 mm while letting the resilient nitrile profile flex with thermal and structural movement underfoot and under tyres. The insert is interchangeable, so a worn or damaged section can be lifted out and replaced without disturbing the fixed aluminium frame, keeping the floor serviceable for years.
Key Benefits
- Withstands slow vehicle and tyre traffic on carpark decks and ramps without breaking up
- Replaceable nitrile insert means worn sections are swapped in minutes, not relaid
- Pre-drilled aluminium strips speed up on-site fixing and keep installation costs down
- Available in black or grey to blend with most floor finishes
- Flat and angle versions cover floor-to-floor and floor-to-wall details from one system
- Low-maintenance design keeps carparks open with minimal disruption
Applications
- Interior multi-storey carpark decks and intermediate levels
- Vehicle access ramps within parking structures
- Basement parking floors with slow-moving traffic
- Service and loading areas carrying light vehicle movement
- Floor-to-wall junctions requiring exposed skirting cover
- Commercial and institutional buildings with internal driveways
Features & Construction
- Aluminium side strips pre-drilled and supplied in 3 m sections for fast alignment
- Resilient nitrile insert on a 15 m roll, available in black or grey
- Accommodates a joint gap of 50-65 mm
- Flat version for level floors and angle version for skirting transitions
- Mechanically clipped insert allows tool-free replacement

| Material | Aluminium + nitrile |
| Versions | Flat / angle |
| Side strips | Pre-drilled, 3 m |

Installation Guide
- Clean and level the joint edges, removing debris and laitance from both slab faces
- Position the pre-drilled aluminium side strips along each edge of the gap
- Mark, drill and insert anchors through the pre-drilled holes into the slab
- Fix the side strips securely, keeping the channel parallel and to correct width
- Unroll the nitrile insert and cut it to the run length required
- Press the nitrile insert firmly into the channel until it seats between the strips
- Check the insert sits flush and trim any excess at terminations
Maintenance & Care
DriveFlex needs only routine attention: sweep or wash the joint as part of normal carpark cleaning and periodically inspect the nitrile insert for cuts, flattening or tyre damage. Keep the aluminium strips and fixings free of grit so the insert continues to seat correctly.
When a section of insert shows wear, simply unclip and lift it out, then press a fresh length of nitrile into the same channel. Because the aluminium frame stays in place, replacement is quick and the floor can be returned to service almost immediately. FAQs
DriveFlex — Frequently Asked Questions
What is DriveFlex?
DriveFlex is a mechanical floor expansion joint from Dseal designed for interior carpark levels, access ramps and slow vehicle traffic. It uses pre-drilled aluminium side strips with a flexible nitrile insert clipped between them.
What material is DriveFlex made from?
It combines aluminium side strips with a nitrile rubber insert. The aluminium provides a rigid, durable frame while the nitrile insert flexes with movement and resists tyre contact.
What joint gap does DriveFlex cover?
DriveFlex is built for a joint gap of 50 to 65 mm, which suits most internal carpark and ramp expansion joints in Indian buildings.
How much movement can DriveFlex handle?
The resilient nitrile insert flexes with thermal and structural movement across the 50-65 mm gap, absorbing the slab movement typical of interior carpark decks.
Can DriveFlex take vehicle loads?
Yes. It is engineered for slow-moving vehicle and tyre traffic on carpark levels and ramps. For faster or heavier vehicle traffic, ask Dseal about a heavier-duty option.
Is DriveFlex waterproof?
The nitrile insert and aluminium frame resist water at the surface, but DriveFlex is primarily a cover-and-movement system. For fully sealed waterproof joints discuss a sealed membrane option with Dseal.
How is DriveFlex installed?
The pre-drilled aluminium strips are anchored to each slab edge, then the nitrile insert is pressed into the channel between them. The pre-drilled holes make fixing fast and accurate.
How do I maintain DriveFlex?
Clean it during routine carpark washing and inspect the nitrile insert periodically. Worn inserts simply unclip and a fresh length is pressed back into the same aluminium channel.
What colours does the insert come in?
The nitrile insert is available in black or grey to suit different floor finishes.
What standards apply to DriveFlex?
The aluminium extrusions follow ASTM B221-02 / ASTM 6063. Dseal manufactures under ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certified systems.
How is DriveFlex different from GatewaySeal?
Both are aluminium-and-nitrile floor joints, but GatewaySeal is a GFT-series profile fixed at a 60 mm gap and 35 mm height with hospital-grade plain-insert options, while DriveFlex targets carpark decks and ramps over a 50-65 mm gap.
Are custom sizes available?
Yes. While the standard gap is 50-65 mm, Dseal (Dhawan Associates) can advise on project-specific runs and terminations for your carpark layout.
Does DriveFlex come in flat and angle versions?
Yes. The flat version suits level floors and the angle version handles floor-to-wall junctions with exposed skirting.
Who manufactures DriveFlex?
DriveFlex is made in India by Dhawan Associates under the Dseal brand, India's leading expansion joint manufacturer.
Where can I buy DriveFlex in India?
DriveFlex is supplied across India directly by Dseal (Dhawan Associates). Call +91 93109 97953 for pricing, lead times and delivery to your project.
What lengths are supplied?
Aluminium side strips come in 3 m sections and the nitrile insert is supplied on a 15 m roll, so long runs are made up from multiple sections.
