Dseal ParkGuard

ParkGuard is a heavy-duty mechanical expansion joint system for parking structures. It uses pre-drilled ASTM 6063 T6 aluminium side strips and a flexible, replaceable nitrile insert to absorb floor movement while carrying vehicular traffic across joint gaps of 50–65 mm.

ParkGuard is designed for indoor floor joints with a gap between 50 mm and 65 mm. For other gap widths, Dseal offers companion systems such as GatewaySeal and JointMaster — contact our team and we will recommend the right profile.

ParkGuard is rated for intense light-vehicle traffic and medium-heavy traffic of vehicles on pneumatic tyres up to 90 kN. Load capacity is highest with the joint in its initial position and reduces as the joint moves, so values are based on pneumatic-wheel contact areas of roughly 200 × 200 mm.

The side strips are extruded from ASTM 6063 T6 aluminium (with galvanised-steel and stainless-steel options), and the central insert is made from durable nitrile rubber. Nitrile resists oils and fuels commonly found in car parks.

Yes. ParkGuard is specifically engineered for basement, podium and multi-level car-park floors, where it handles repeated vehicle loading, braking and thermal movement while keeping the surface flush and safe.

Yes. ParkGuard is supplied in both floor-to-floor and floor-to-wall types, the latter with exposed skirting to neatly close the joint where a floor meets a wall or upstand.

The pre-drilled aluminium side strips come in 3 m lengths and the nitrile insert is supplied in 15 m rolls, allowing efficient installation across long runs with minimal joints.

The nitrile insert is available in black or grey as standard, allowing the joint to blend with most car-park floor finishes.

Yes — and this is a key advantage. The nitrile insert is interchangeable, so a worn section can be replaced without removing the fixed aluminium side strips, dramatically reducing long-term maintenance cost and downtime.

The pre-drilled side strips are positioned along each joint edge, fixed level into the slab through their pre-drilled holes in 3 m sections, and the flexible nitrile insert is then pressed firmly into the side-strip channels. See the Installation Guide above for the full step-by-step.

The nitrile insert seals the surface against debris and surface water. For full waterproofing between levels, ParkGuard can be combined with a Dseal water barrier and outlet beneath the joint — ask our team about the Water Barrier + Outlet accessory.

Both are mechanical parking-area joints for 50–65 mm gaps. ParkGuard is the heavy-duty option for medium-heavy traffic, while DriveFlex is tuned for interior carpark levels, access ramps and slower vehicle traffic. Our team can help you choose between them.

ParkGuard is primarily an indoor floor-joint system for covered car parks. For exposed roof and terrace decks, Dseal recommends weather-sealed systems such as SkyBridge or an EPDM seal — contact us for an exterior specification.

Very little. Clean periodically with a neutral detergent and water, avoid acidic cleaners that attack aluminium, and inspect the insert during routine checks. Replace insert sections only if worn or damaged.

ParkGuard aluminium profiles are manufactured in compliance with ASTM B221-02 and the ASTM 6063 specification for extruded aluminium. Dseal's manufacturing is certified to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018.
